Linux Adventures

These pages describe my Linux adventures. It all started in January '97, when early in January 97 I replaced my old 486/33 computer with a brand new P5/200Mhz machine. The actual configuration I got is this:
ProcessorPentium/200Mhz
Memory24Meg
Hard Drive2.5Gig
Display cardDiamond 3D 2000 (4Meg)
CD-ROMToshiba 12X ATAPI
SoundEnsoniq Soundscape
MonitorMag DX15T (15in)

My computer is made by Quantex and so far I'm quite happy with it, although I missed the coming out of P5/MMX-es by about a week.

Since I have never set up Linux before I spent $50 and bought the Red Hat 4.0 distribution.

By the way, throughout all this I found the book "Running Linux" by Matt Welsh and Lar Kaufman exteremely helpful.

Finally if you spot any errors or have some suggestions or questions, where I haven't explained something well, please let me know.

What's new?
