Programming Projects

For now most of my Eiffel projects have gone dormant. I've been working in Java for the past two years and I'm started to contribute to some Java projects. So for now I moved Java projects to the top.

Java

• Mondrian
  This is my only Java applet. It's a copy of a program that I wrote long long time ago on the Amiga. Suprizingly, it's become fairly popular. For example it's used by this website on Piet Mondrian

• Abra
  Abra is a lighweight persistence framework that makes it easy to store (retrieve) Java objects to (from) a relational database. We started with Oracle, but Paul added support for Postgres, MySql, DB2 and Sybase.

• Jear - Java Ear Training program
This is an incomplete project. This program can be used for interval recognition. The program plays two notes and the user must press corresponing keys on the keyboard. Screen shot here

Eiffel

• Eiffel/Gtk Interface -
  I'm working on a ISE Eiffel/Gtk widget toolkit interface. You can download the current version from this page.

• Emu Web Server and socket libraries -
  This page contains information about the Emu Web Server project and the associated libraries. In particular the Eiffel socket library.

  This project was used as a starting point for the Extreme Eiffel Design and Coding Fest at TOOLS 2000. The website for this project is found here.

• www.grator.org -
  Unfortunately this web site is no longer in operation. I have kept a copy if the FFTW/Eiffel interace. You can also download the copy of the Eiffel/Versant library here - but this library is no longer maintained (11/05/2002).

• Eiffel Introspection Library
  Proposal for an Eiffel introspection library. At some point I will have a partial implementation using ISE 4.3 Eiffel.

• Port of ISE base to SmallEiffel -
  This page contains information about the port of ISE's Base Library to SmallEiffel. This project is pretty much dead. There are just too many differences between SmallEiffel and ISE. If you want to write portable Eiffel code use the GOBO libraries.

• Port of the ISS RegEx matching library to SmallEiffel.-
  Download matching_se_0310.tar.gz from here. I compiled it with SE -0.79 on a Linux system. Please let me know if you find any bugs. You can retrieve the original library from Eiffel Forum Archives. (Posted: March 10, 1999).

• books.tar.gz -
  scripts to generate my book pages. I wrote an article for Linux Gazette describing these scripts. Just click here to see it.
• counter.py -
  a simple CGI counter script. I use it on books and linux pages.
